Construction Dumpster Rental across West Michigan

A job site does not make one kind of waste. Demolition comes out heavy: concrete, tile, brick and roofing. Framing and drywall come out light and bulky. The finish phase makes packaging and offcuts. We size each phase on its own: a 10 for small remodels, tight access and heavy debris; a 15 for bathroom or kitchen demolition and roofing; a 20 for medium construction and renovation; a 30 for multi-room projects and framing debris; a 40 for large builds, demolition and commercial sites. If a project needs more than one container, we schedule ongoing swap-outs.

Construction sites have their own rules, and they differ by town. We check the City of Holland's rules and the placement with your site manager before the first drop, so the schedule does not stall on a permit question.

Demolition, framing, roofing and finish

Our construction containers take lumber, plywood and drywall; concrete, asphalt, stone and brick; roofing shingles and metal sheets; pallets, packaging and cardboard; tile, flooring and carpet; and scrap metal and fixtures. Heavy material goes in the smaller containers because of weight. Framing scraps, lumber, drywall and packaging go in the 20s, 30s and 40s. New home construction, renovations and additions, demolition, commercial builds, roofing and siding jobs, and excavation all have a size that fits.

Demolition is a state matter before it is a dumpster matter. EGLE runs the federal asbestos rule (NESHAP) in Michigan. Residential dwellings of four units or less under private control are not subject to it, but other regulated demolitions need notice through EGLE's MiEnviro Portal at least ten working days before work starts, even when no asbestos is present. Hazardous materials, wet paint, fuel, solvents and asbestos never go in our roll-offs, and we ask what the building is before we quote a demolition job. Where it is possible, metal, concrete, asphalt and cardboard are separated for recycling at approved local facilities.

Job-site placement across West Michigan

On a private lot we place the container where the driver can reach it and the crew can load it, on flat, solid ground with about 60 feet of clear approach and about 25 feet of clearance overhead. We coordinate placement with your site manager. In the City of Holland a refuse collector licence applies, and the City Council approves applicants; we check the City's rules before booking. We found no rule on dumpster placement in the City code we could read, so for any spot in a street we check the City's rules and the placement with you before booking. MDOT requires a permit from anyone who wants to use state highway right-of-way for anything other than normal vehicle or pedestrian travel, so we keep containers out of the right-of-way of I-196, US-31, M-21, M-40, M-45 or any other state route. On the road, Michigan law requires every vehicle to be built or loaded so its contents cannot drop, sift, leak, blow off or otherwise escape, and a load that is not completely enclosed has to be covered or fastened down (MCL 257.720).

Construction dumpster rental: the local specifics

Several codes write construction waste into the rules. The City of Holland applies a refuse collector licence to the hauler (Ordinance Code Chapter 27), and we check the City's rules before booking. Spring Lake's Village code requires a hauler licence (Chapter 300, § 300-6), and Allegan's code restricts placement of containers in the right-of-way. Who may haul from a site depends on the town, and each town page quotes what that town asks for. For demolition of a regulated building, EGLE's notice applies first, as set out above.

Not covered here? Call (616) 344-9760 and ask.

Do you do swap-outs?

Yes. Once the container is full we haul it and rotate in an empty one. Long-term construction sites can set up ongoing swap-outs from the start.

Can I mix concrete with other debris?

You can, but it costs you. Concrete fills the weight allowance long before the box looks full, so heavy materials go in the smaller containers and may need separate pricing when mixed. A 10 for rubble alongside a bigger box for the rest is usually the cheaper plan.

Can you deliver to a site with no address yet?

Give us the nearest cross streets and a site contact, and we coordinate delivery timing and placement with you or the site manager before the truck goes out.

Do I need a permit for a container on a job site?

On the lot itself, the town's construction-site rules are what usually apply. In a street, the rules differ. We check the City's or the Village's rules and the placement with you before booking, and we flag any EGLE demolition notice when you book.

Who is allowed to haul construction debris in my town?

It depends on the town. The City of Holland applies a refuse collector licence, the Village of Spring Lake requires a hauler licence, and other towns have their own restrictions. Where a town restricts hauling, we check its rules before booking.
