Supporting local cleanups

From neighborhood clean-up days to storm recovery, we help residents and volunteer groups clear debris across Holland and the towns around it, including Zeeland, Hudsonville, Grand Haven, Spring Lake, Jenison, Grandville, Saugatuck, Douglas, Hamilton, Allegan, Fennville, Coopersville, West Olive and Ferrysburg. When a group organizes a cleanup, the hard part is the pile at the end, and a roll-off is often what it needs. Tell us what you are clearing and we help you pick the size.

One honest tip: sort before you load. Household paint, chemicals and other hazardous waste go to a household hazardous waste collection, not into a cleanup container. Green waste is worth keeping in its own load, since Michigan keeps more than a de minimis amount of yard waste out of landfills (MCL 324.11514). Keep tires, batteries, propane tanks and anything hazardous out of a cleanup container altogether.

Partner with us

Planning a community cleanup or an event and need a hand with waste hauling? Call (616) 344-9760 or email info@hollanddumpsterco.com and tell us what you have in mind. A cleanup container follows the same rules as any other. The City of Holland applies a refuse collector licence to the hauler, so we check the City's rules and the placement with your group before the day. Allegan restricts placement, and Saugatuck and Douglas both restrict containers in streets and rights-of-way. We tell you what applies before the day arrives.

We also work alongside the homeowners, landlords, contractors and small businesses that keep West Michigan moving, and help keep neighborhoods clean during renovations, cleanups and seasonal projects.

Responsible disposal

Keeping our communities clean also means disposing of waste the right way. We sort and divert recyclable and reusable materials whenever possible, and we work with approved local facilities. Michigan law says solid waste may go only to a licensed disposal area (MCL 324.11512(2)). Hazardous materials go to a household hazardous waste collection, never into the container. Loads that go over the weight allowance are weighed, and an overage fee applies, which we explain before delivery.
