Delivery Day: Where to Place a Dumpster at Your Home

Clear the path and the spot

• Clear enough space for the truck to reach the spot.
• Check overhead for branches and utility lines, and allow overhead clearance for safe placement.
• Choose a flat, stable surface such as a driveway or paved area.
• Move vehicles, bins and other obstacles before the truck arrives.

If you will not be home, mark the placement spot with cones, tape or chalk so the driver knows where the dumpster goes.

Protect your driveway

We take precautions to protect your property. For extra protection, you may place plywood or boards under the dumpster. Tell us about any tight access or fragile surface when you book.

You do not need to be home

You do not need to be present for delivery or pickup, as long as we have clear instructions on where to place the dumpster, such as your driveway or job site. Make sure the area is accessible and free of obstacles.

Keep the load below the top edge

All debris must stay below the top edge of the dumpster. An overfilled container cannot be safely transported, so spread the load evenly. The size guide lists the weight allowance for each size.

Same-day timing and pickup

In many areas we offer same-day or next-day delivery, depending on availability. Call early in the day to improve your chances of same-day service.

When you are finished, call us and we will schedule the pickup. Finishing early? Call and we will arrange an early pickup. Need a swap-out? Call us and we will coordinate it.

Street spots need a check first

If the only spot is on a public street or right-of-way, read the permits and placement guide first. A permit may be required, and we check the local rules before booking.
